Description
ALTAGLY is a non-selective post-emergence herbicide, active during the weed’s active growth phase. AltaGLY acts by specifically inhibiting the enzyme 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS), which is involved in the shikimate metabolic pathway in plants. This metabolic pathway is essential for the synthesis of aromatic amino acids required for plant growth and development. By blocking the activity of EPSPS, glyphosate inhibits the synthesis of these amino acids, leading to growth arrest and ultimately weed death.
